A special grant in honor of Stephanie Wissinger, to save a kitty at risk of euthanasia due to medical needs
In December 2023, a special grant was given in honor of Stephanie Wissinger.
Stephanie Wissinger, a friend of the cat rescue community and President of Little Wanderers NYC, lost her 3-year battle with breast cancer in November 2023. To honor her life, Mission Meow wanted to save a feline life. We asked Little Wanderers to find a kitty who was at risk of euthanasia due to medical needs, and we would give them a grant. That’s how Tommy was rescued off death row hours before he was set to be euthanized.
This sweet senior ginger was brought to the ACC as a stray but was clearly someone’s companion, as he’s a lap kitty with a well-running purr motor. He was on the euthanasia list due to his dental disease and a fistula that had formed between his mouth and nasal passage.
Thanks to Mission Meow’s grant and Little Wanderers’ hard work, Tommy was transported to a foster and his medical issues will be addressed. A life saved in honor of Stephanie Wissinger in the holiday season. It’s a perfect season for miracles.
