Privacy policy

Last updated October 1, 2026

What this website collects when you visit, give or write to us, who handles it, and what you can ask us to do with it, in plain English.

Who we are

This website, missionmeow.org, belongs to Mission Meow, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 88-3074680) that pools donations and business partners’ contributions into grants for small, feline-focused rescues.

Questions about this policy, or about anything we hold about you, go to info@missionmeow.org.

When you visit

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read, so we know what’s useful. It sets cookies in your browser and tells Google about your visit: the pages you open, roughly where you are, and the kind of device and browser you use. We use it only to understand the site. We don’t run ads, and we never sell or rent your information.

Our film

The film on our homepage comes from Vimeo, but nothing loads from Vimeo until you press play. Once you do, Vimeo’s own privacy policy applies to the player, which we load with “do not track” turned on.

When you donate

The donation form on our Donate page is Givebutter’s, and it loads on that page only. Givebutter and its payment processors handle your payment, under Givebutter’s privacy policy. Your card or bank details never reach this website. Givebutter shares a record of your gift with Mission Meow, so we can thank you and keep our books.

If you mail a check or send money through Zelle, your bank handles it, and we keep the record we need for our accounts.

When you fill in a form

Each form keeps only what it asks for, and only for the reason it gives beside the button:

The contact form keeps your name, email, topic and message, so we can reply. The partner inquiry form keeps your company, name, email, phone, website and message, so we can reply about partnership. The grant-window reminder keeps your email, so we can write to you before each grant window opens. The newsletter sign-up keeps your email, so we can send you the newsletter.

With each one we also keep the page you sent it from, the time, and the exact note you saw beside the form. To stop spam we keep a scrambled code made from your internet address, never the address itself.

When you start filling in a form, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a program, is sending it. Most people never see it. It runs under Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Email from us

Messages from this website, like grant-window reminders and the notes that tell our team a form came in, are sent through Resend from send.missionmeow.org. Newsletter sign-ups are passed to the newsletter service Mission Meow uses to send it, under that service’s privacy policy.

Where it’s kept

What you send through our forms is stored in a Supabase database in the United States. It isn’t public: only the people who run this website for Mission Meow can see it. The website itself is hosted by Netlify.

Your choices

Every grant-window reminder and every newsletter has an unsubscribe link. To see what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email info@missionmeow.org and we’ll take care of it.

Changes

When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
